Attitude, Legislation, Litigation Essay Example for Free
Attitude, Legislation, Litigation EssayAttitudes, legislation and litigation impact the lives of students with disabilities. People swallow changed their mindset toward mentally incapacitate flock from the set about of time until the 21st century on how they view flock with disabilities. Many doors that were closed to them has been open and the laws are everlastingly changing to make accredited that people with disabilities has the same equal ripe as any new(prenominal) person. In the past, the government attitude were very invalidating toward individualist with a disability because they believe, they were a burden on society and not worthy of living amongst them. In that particular era, they also thought that children who had a disability did not have the right to receive an education and medical attention. The text stated that, The German government actively terminated the lives of people with disabilities as a means to purify the forgiving race and put these wretche d individuals out of their misery (United States Holocaust Memoral Museum, 2008) (Hardman, Egan Drew, 2011, p. 4). In 1950, there was an organization developed called the United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) combined with the NARC, depicted object Association for Retarded Children. These groups work hard and fought for the nation to take a stand for people with disabilities, they had good intentions to provide people that are mentally disable with equal medical treatment, social services and education. The Civil Rights and Ameri kitty Disabilities Acts provided individuals with disabilities the opportunity to equal education and they were not discriminated against because of their physical ability. During the past 50 years people attitude has changed in our society toward individual with disabilities.Social attitudes revealed that people with disabilities were unhealthy and imperfect, for a long period of time society had pity and feared for disable people. Their negative attitude was becau se individuals were incompetent of partaking in or contributing to society and that they must rely on public assistance or nonprofit organizations. With legislation ambit the bar for individuals with special needs, people are more compassion and are not disgrace or have negative feelings towards individuals with special needs. As a result, of the people coming together to help those in need there are many individuals that resides in the community instead of institutions. Due to the changes, during the 1970s and mid-eighties many of the institutions for people with developmental disabilities were closed. In spite of a persons ability, everyone deserved an opportunity to participate in normal civilization. People directly are more receptive of helping, people that are disabled because of the positive attitude they have toward them even educators must teach with an attitude of personal dedication to every child (Lecture Note). Our special need students have a bright future ahead of t hem because of the Supreme Court decision in the 1970s case, protactinium Association for Retarded Citizens (PARC). The court ordered Pennsylvania schooltimes to provide a free public education to all children with mental retardation between the ages of 6 and 21 (Hardman, Egan Drew, 2011, p. 6). Today in 21st century life we have in place, The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).This has generated over time which made public education, ensures associate services easy such as transportation, counseling, and Individual Education Plan (IEP) which is use for academic, social, or physical concerns in a classroom. I am sure that special needs people has a sense of pride with the education that they are entitled to because they have the same opportunity as any other person to learn and develop skills so they can work and live in a community as we do. During my first personal encounter with an individual with a disability, I have to honestly state that I was frightened t o go close to the person.I really can not state wherefore I was scared, I just felt something come over me maybe it was fear as I think about it that is the only way I can describe it. With my knowledge and experience now my response testament be receptive of the individuals, I can come in close data link and interact without thinking twice about. I have two cousins that are mentally disabled and over the years being around and having personal relationships with them I have learned a lot and became comfortable within myself and them to want to help others that are physically challenge. With the many challeges that special eeds students face, I predict that educators will have the necessary tools needed to continue to help them strive towards succeed. Educators will be able to teach each student on their individual level and not keep them behind because the school system feels they are not ready to progress forward. The No Child Left Behind standards should not be required for spe cial needs students, they should progress based on their IEP. I believe that the educators should not solely be the blame for student performance, the school leadership have to take some of the blame. We can only teach with what we are provided with, more tools and resources are needed in the classrooms in order to help the students constantly build on their knowledge. With laws changing every year, to enhance the early hitch programs it will impact the climate of special education. In the future more intervention programs will be included in the schools to help those with special needs to have positive peer influences by the attitudes and behaviors of students.School counselors should guide in assessing school climate in relation to students with disabilities and commencing interventions or advocating for change when appropriate. Thinking has changed tremendously towards students with disabilities since the 1950s era. I do not think there are good-tempered people out there that f eel that students with disabilities should not live or have the opportunity to enjoy life as a person without a disabilities. I believe that thinking has changed because there are many services available for students with disabilities, if people did not care these services would not be available. You have to have passion to work with a mentally disable person, if you have any negative feelings I truly do not feel that you can work with or for them for that matter. People attitude has changed toward individual that has disabilities education has become a right for them due to the people taking a nation ample stand. Many people today are willing to help individual that are mentally challenge, there are many services that are available for them. The laws are updating every year to protect people with disabilities.

Developments of Far Right Ideologies
Developments of Far just Ideologies1. creationPolitical scientists, in recent years, sport been concerned everywhere the revival of organic effective policy-making straw mans in Europe and other parts of the world. Even as entire slump cowcatcher ideologies hide to be identified by the general earthly concern with the discredited fascist movements that swept Europe in the first half of the twentieth century, they similarly continue to fascinate policy-making experts and the public with their myriad hues, complexities and the morbid attraction they hold for people in different governmental settings.Just three-fourths of a century back, in the first quarter of the 1900s, waves of left-wing movements strike the countries of Europe and threatened to overwhelm not just the bastions of free trade and capitalism, but also the democratic models that, to some degree, loped in the UK and the USA. The aftermath of the First piece state of war, depleted European treasuries and the great American depression had led to large-scale unemployment, poverty and frugal despair in most states of Western Europe. With life organism uncomfortable, unfair and difficult for millions of people, the semipolitical environment was open to upheavals and led to the spread of Communism, and to the emergence of fascism, as salutary as its widespread acceptance. These two political ideologies, atomic number 53 left and the other rectify, deeply opposed to each other, went on to dominate the political processes of Europe until the Second World War. The war overthrowed in the armed services defeat and eclipse of fascism, as well as its virtual obliteration from the political lexicon. The vengeance of the victors ensured that the word became a worldwide slur, shunned by wholly political parties.Fascism owes its origin to the Italian leader Benito Mussolini and takes its name, twain from the word fascio, meaning union or league, and from fasces, a Roman symbol of magist erial authority that suggests strength d whiz unity. Its political theory, while origin all(prenominal)y represented by the political movement led by Mussolini, later came to stand for a generic class of authoritarian ideology that received widespread acceptance and support in Western Europe. While fascist parties and governments expectd the charge of commitment of enormous crimes against humanity after the end of the Second World War and their extinction led to widespread relief, the eighties and nineties witnessed resurgence in parties with broadly similar extreme right ideologies. The resurrection of the extreme right in Europe in the last two decades has also led to the expression of new apprehensions, which focus on strong opposition to in-migration and on the disenchantment of certain sections of society with the contradictions and challenges created by the democratic system.Britains problems with xenophobia and right wing violence have their equivalents all over the Contin ent, from Antwerp to Vienna. I could just as comfortably have begun this book with descriptions of the right-wing street terror of the East German university towns of Jena and Erfurt, or the widespread surmises-probably untrue-behind the soccer hooligan violence of the European cup in 2000. Or the right-wing electoral surges that occurred from Romania to the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Or the racist prejudice and violence visited upon asylum-seekers and immigrants in places as far apart as Paris and Budapest. A host of extreme right-wing phenomena-though hardly anything resembling the fascist and Nazi upsurge of the twenties and 1930s-are on the march all over Europe. 1 galore(postnominal) European countries, including the UK, have political parties with neofascist political ideologies. However, a number of factors, like the absence of a defining gross ideo system of logical treatise, (like the communist manifesto that governs leftist thought) as well as significant difference s in their political and social approaches, have led some political scientists to surmise that extreme right wing ideologies do not share a common theme. The theatrical of every isolated xenophobic reaction to be a manifestation of neofascism has also added greatly to the confusion enveloping the issue. It is the aim of this essay to study the history, nature, incidence and practice of extreme right wing political thought, and analyse whether this impression is valid, or whether all extreme right movements do share common and distinct ideology.2. Commentary proper(ip) wing ideologies sprouted all over Europe in the 1920s and 1930s. Apart from Italy under Mussolini, Germanys Third Reich under Adolf Hitler, Portugals Estado Novo, Hungarys Arrow Cross Perty, Romanias Iron Guard and Spains Falange were among the parties and governments considered to be fascist. In recent years fascism and modern plans of extreme right ideologies have been studied in detail by researchers like Roger Eat well, Roger Griffin, Piero Ignazi and Cas Mudde, their work contributing significantly towards hatchway up the area to greater scrutiny. The rise of extreme right wing ideologies is associated mostly with the fascist movements in Italy and Germany, which culminated in seizure of governmental power. Its rise in Europe, however, actually commenced with the end of the First World War, and the descent of an uneasy peace on the war ravaged continent. This peaceful interregnum was, as is well known, tag by a number of deveopments that led to the collapse of democracy in most European countries other than France and Britain. The Bolshevik Revolution and the formation of the Soviet state had already sent shockwaves through the landed gentry, the bourgeoisie and the businessmen of Europe. This fear of communist takeover, imaginary or otherwise, coupled with widespread unhappiness over the Versailles Treaty, terrible economic conditions, huge unemployment figures and the desire of minorities to assert themselves created conditions that seemed to herald the doom of capitalism2 and invite ambitious and power hungry individuals to come forth, promise grandiose futures, create easily distinguishable punching bags, weave extravagant dreams of national glory and take over the reins of power.Mussolini came to power on the back of a political career that began in 1912 and culminated in his assumption of the Prime Ministers office, and dictatorial powers, in 1922. Even though he entered politics as a socialist, his journey to power was marked with many shifts in ideology, which saw him, at different stages, allying with the landed bourgeoisie, espousing womens suffragette, wooing capitalists and breaking worker strikes all this, before the takeover of power by his Fascist Party led to a more detailed elaboration of Italian extreme right wing ideology. The Party, along with big business, the Church, state, army, Fascist unions, and corporations became one of several semi-autonomo us power centres in Fascist Italy.3While Mussolini became the archetypal fascist and encouraged the rise of fascist movements in other countries including the Nazis in Germany, the Heimwehr in Austria, Mosleys party in the UK and the Falange in Spain, his form of fascism differed from extreme right ideologies prevalent in other countries of Europe which in turn were influenced by local political and social conditions. Similar differences in right wing ideology espo purposed by various parties in Europe exist even today. The progressive vulgarisation of fascism over the years and its representation as a badly put together collection of half-baked clichs and reactionary attitudes has served to make extreme right ideology a collective object of derision, the misconceptions over its principles universe further exacerbated by continual mindless referrals that sometimes border on the ludicrous.George Orwell wrote in 1944 the word Fascism is more or less entirely meaningless. In conversa tion, of course, it is used even more wildly than in print. I have heard it applied to farmers, shopkeepers, Social Credit, corporal punishment, fox-hunting, bull-fighting, the 1922 Committee, the 1941 Committee, Kipling, Gandhi, Chiang Kai-Shek, homosexuality, Priestleys broadcasts, Youth Hostels, astrology, women, dogs and I do not know what else almost any English person would accept bully as a synonym for Fascist. 4However, many political scientists thinkers do believe that extreme right wing ideology, when used in a proper and accurate context, is well defined and has specific features. Robert Pearce argues that the ambit of Orthodox fascism specifically includes (a) an extreme form of nationalism, where humans are important but only as part of a nation, (b) social Darwinism, which stipulates that struggle between nations is inevitable, (c) theories of racism, which croak on hierarchies of races and brand some as inferior (d) anti-positivism, or rather, the belief that humans are influenced more by myth and intuition than by logic and reason, (e) the notion of the heroic and wise leader, and (f) the idea of the corporate state, a constructive middle path between capitalism and communism.5Roger Eatwell of Bath University has also put front a number of stipulations that he livelinesss should form a minimum fascist agenda. Eatwell states that the enormousness of the new man and the creation of new elite are at the centre of fascist ideology. This concept of elitism, illustrated by Mussolinis belief in trenchocracy and Hitlers obsession with breeding a race of super teutons, is common to all fascist and extreme right political thought. In fascism, the new man is required to battle for his country and be instrumental in the build-up of the state.Fascists placed emphasis on integrating man through a form of manipulated activism in both the political and economic spheres. They were encouraged to attend mass celebrations, which unquestionably had a quasi-re ligious appeal for some. The Dopolavoro and German copy, the KdF, organised events such as mass holidays, for example to the island of Rgen, which had the largest hotel in the world in 1939. Professional sport likewise became a form of popular control. State-subsidised sport could also provide more individualised and even commercially-related pleasures, such as motor sport in which Alfa Romeos, Mercedes and simple machine Unions vied for dominance and national prestige on Europes circuits.6Apart from a strong focus on the development of manhood, fascism was distinguished by an emphatic sense of nationalism, a strong belief in the importance of race, a virulent opposition to communism and the significance of the state in regulating political, social and business activity. The importance of the state arose primarily from the contempt that leaders of fascist movements felt for the ability of the masses to play any constructive role on their own. The inordinate use of myth and propa ganda by fascist governments also emphasises this proclivity of the elite to think of the masses as gullible and easily led herds. The use of myth was thought to have a much stronger effect in galvanising public opinion than the use of reason and logic, be it to foster belief in the concept of racial superiority, the necessity for persecution of Jews, the imperativeness of going to war, or for increasing production in factories. While anti-Semitism reached demoniacal proportions in Nazi Germany, the importance of racial purity and superiority was also evident in Italy, where coloured people, rather than Jews, were targeted for persecution. While fascism, per se, was based on the specific value systems elaborated in the precede para, the extreme right movements that emerged in Europe in the 1980s were influenced by certain contemporaneous developments that resulted in some modifications to the traditional approach. Right wing extremism, though still not a serious threat, has gained s ignificant acceptance in the recent past in countries like France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Italy. Le Pen scored very well in the French presidential elections of 2003. Many European extreme right parties, for example, the Flaams Blok in Belgium, the Alleanza Nazionale and Lega Nord in Italy and the FPO in Austria have succeeded in increasing their electoral base. Germany and Austria, in particular, have seen strong growth in the development of neo fascist support.Since unification, a violent xenophobic youth culture and an extreme right movement with neo-Nazi edges have taken hold and spread in Germany, especially in the states of the former GDR, temporarily, they established so-called nationally liberated zones in which they try to inhibit power and authority by means of sustained violence, and they are supported by occasional regional electoral successes. 7The political development of the new right differs from country to country. In Europe, it appears to have moved away fr om conventional neofascism to firstly, incorporate resentment against immigration and dilution of cultural heritage in its agenda, and secondly, use democratic representation to push for anti immigration policies, based on flag-waving(a) and populist emotions.According to (Piero) Ignazi, the new extreme right politically signifies, articulates and successfully mobilizes a one time silent counter-revolution of a return to authoritarian-nationalist and conventional moral values, directed against culturally pluralized, postmaterial libertarian values, individualized lifestyles, and postindustrial sociocultural modernization.8In 2000, Jorg Haiders FPO became Austrias second strongest political force. Moreover, the party also succeeded in entering government, albeit as a junior partner the first case of power coming to the hands of the extreme right in a West European country after the demolition of the Italian and German regimes. In a state that considers itself to be one of the bigge st victims of Nazism, the FNP and the FPO, both parties that belong to the extreme right, base their electoral appeal on a mixture of ethnic pride, national identity, xenophobia, and anti Semitism. It is pertinent to note that Austria has also had to face significant increases in immigration, legal and illegal, after the fall of the iron curtain and the disintegration of the Soviet Union.Cas Mudde, who in his book, The Ideology of the Extreme Right has made a detailed analysis of five rightist parties, concludes that four features, built around the core of nationalism, form the essence of right wing extremism.9The state should implement a policy of internal homogenization and create a mono-cultural society through the deportation of foreignersThe world view is defined by a pervasive xenophobia, in which anything different is seen to be threatening and includes external and internal enemiesAll parties studied support a form of socioeconomic welfare chauvinismWell-ordered company lif e is essential for the protection of citizens and society.Roger Eatwell states that in addition to using xenophobic insecurities, extreme right parties also attempt to broad base their appeal by supporting tradition and conservatism in social life.Certainly extreme right groups tend to defend traditional values. The FP, for example, developed in the late mid-nineties the idea of a Kinder Scheck, a form of new child benefit designed to help keep women in the home (previously welfare programmes had not evaluate in FP campaigns, other than through its stress on immigrant parasites). They also tend to be hostile to forms of sexual liberation, such as homosexuality. Extreme right groups also tend to be nationalist, although a notable minority stresses ethno regionalism as the primary source of identification (the homogenous, relatively limited geographic region is very much depicted as a natural rather than bureaucratic barrier to immigration)10The extreme right, in the 1920s and in r ecent times, has worked primarily on the insecurities of people who feel threatened and insecure by seemingly uncontrollable social, environmental and economic developments. This happens, mostly by using conspiracy theories and by projecting social contradictions onto an nonphysical and hazy enemy. These ideologies continue to appeal to the social paranoia of threatened sub-groups by projecting the benefits of a well-ordered authoritarian world peopled by ethnic and nationalist communities over the numerous uncertainties and social challenges raised by democratisation, the implementation of universal values and modernisation of culture and society.3. ConclusionIt has become increasingly evident that electorates have not been able to entirely reject extreme right ideologies, even after the ostracisms heaped on them after the Second World War. Extreme right ideologies continue to exist, not just under the dictatorships of despots like Idi Amin, but also in the democratic and affluent economies of Western Europe. Neofascism takes much of its inspiration from the fascist theories of the 1920s, when people were worked up on the platforms of superiority of race, creation of superior men, anticommunism and delusions of nationalist grandeur. Modern day ideology continues to stress upon the importance of ethnicity, if not race, and mostly all extreme right ideologies converge in their aim of removing outsiders. While the concept of the mythical ideal man is not thought of, any longer, as a serious possibility, extreme right ideologies work on a sense of ethnic nationalism, the desire for homogenization, and the relative safety of an authoritarian and socially conservative state, ruled wisely by a powerful and able leader.Extreme right movements have not become powerful enough to capture power and run governments, the exception being Austria where the FPO participates in Government as a minority partner. As the ideologies of extreme right parties are still restricted to inflammatory rhetoric, it is difficult to predict the modifications these ideologies may have to undergo, when faced with the real and entirely globalised and democratised world. An illustrative example is the case of the FPO in Austria where the party, classified as a ghetto party in the late fifties, achieved demonstrable electoral success and joined government, albeit in the face of fierce opposition from many EU states who joined hands to keep the FPO leader Jorg Haider out of office. It is common knowledge that during the utmost the party was out of power its political position was anything but responsible. The FP opted for an aggressive campaigning style and employed political rhetoric that was often unbridled. Its core electoral issues included political corruption, over-foreignization (berfremdung), (immigrant) criminality, the alleged arrogance of the EU and a celebration of the supposedly exemplary values of the little man. The fact that during this period the FP had no political responsibility whatsoever for national politics and was dismissed by its competitors as qualitatively unsuitable for government (not least precisely because of the excited nature of its campaigning style), only made it all the easier for the party constantly to engage in irresponsible electoral outbidding of the then governing parties.11Interestingly, the FPO has lost a fair amount of support after it joined government. While this may peradventure be due to the fact that governmental responsibility has required a toning down of irresponsible rhetoric, experts feel that the slump in popularity could also be due to the open hostility showed by the other EU states to the FPOs intricacy in government in Austria. It is quite difficult to assess how these organisations will ultimately place themselves, or even to predict whether anti Semitism will supercede the current anti Muslim feeling in Europe. However, it does seem apparent that most extreme right ideologies have a number of common tenets, possibly because they arise from the same universal insecurities, which concern trespass, a distrust of outsiders, a comfort in association with ones own kind and an inherent desire for the stability provided by a father figure. It would also be quite logical to surmise that as all extreme right ideologies work on these insecurities their solutions will also tend to be similar, modified only because of local political and social equations.BibliographyAntliff, Mark. Discovering The Kingdom Of God
Disc everywhereing The ground Of theologyINTRODUCTIONDo we re entirelyy k straight federal agency what the commonwealth of perfection is, or ar we only speculating? Is it that personal hope that unrivaled day after our death we provide enter into the Kingdom of God and declare eternal life? Or is it something else that we as human beings cannot grasp with our limited mindset. Whatever the forth amaze, let us explore this magnificent topic to stay the best possible answer. As saviourians we mustiness(prenominal) be able to allow Biblical answers to theological questions.1. Write an essay presenting a biblical view of the nature of the Kingdom of God and exploring the implications of your understanding(a) of the kingdom for ministry directlyWe must start off by asking ourselves the question What does the Kingdom of God mean to us as deliverymanians. To many this is maybe another irrelevant religious term used to describe the unrealistic visions of Christians. Some ma y even see the existence of the Kingdom of God altogether as get around of the Church (Ladd 19812-3). One theologian by the squall of Adolf von Harnack, when confronted over the issue, wrote the following The Kingdom of God comes by coming to the individual, by entering into his soul and set hold of it. For Adolf von Harnack, the Kingdom of God meant that the middle of life was to come and fill mickle personally. This hope was a universal hope for the whole creation. People had to move with whiz another and the whole of creation to receive this eternal life (Moltmann 1996131). Even Albert Schweitzer (Ladd 19813) says the Kingdom of God is supernatural and part of the future. Should we shoot the above mentioned as the only answers for the Kingdom of God or should we go to the Word of God and find what it has to say about the Kingdom of God. Yes, we should unquestionably find the Scriptural laws in the Word of God that explains the Kingdom of God to us.First of all, the Kin gdom of God is where God rules. In Jeremiah 3133-34, LASB God writes the rights of His kingdom in our hearts and He expects us to obey Him in glory and honour (Ladd 19816). We see His kingdom exist in the spiritual realm which is not presently visible to our eyes, hardly we can persevere in faith that someday the Kingdom of God leave behind come in all its fullness. Psalm 10319, LASB The Lord has established His keister in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all (Ladd 19816-7). The Kingdom of God is two in the present and in the future. We read that many times delivery boy referred to the Kingdom of God in the future tense Assuredly, I say to you, I will no longer drink in of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the Kingdom of God (Mark 1425, LASB). Other times He indicated that the Kingdom of God was already present. wherefore sometimes He preached that the Kingdom of God was nearby (you could almost touch the kingdom). So we can see that the Kingdom o f God progress through us (by spreading the Gospel) on the primer here and now (Ladd 19818-9).The Kingdom of God is unavailable to people that practice acts of sin. We read in the script the following Do you not love that the immoral will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 69-10, LASB). So if you are practicing some of the above and you die, you will not inherit the Kingdom of God, scarce if you are cleansed and forgiven by the blood of rescuer Christ, and sin no more(prenominal) and and so die, the Kingdom of God is at hand. With the resurrection comes the Kingdom of God (Ladd 198111-13).In the Old Testament we also find the Kingdom of God spoken of for the outset time, although the term itself is not directly used. Israel did not really care about the ter m Kingdom of God they only worried about themselves and their rebellious ways. This was very(prenominal) sad because God actually wanted to prepare Israel to find hope in the coming of the King. For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a password is given And the government will be upon His shoulders. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 96, LASB). This King was to deliver all people from their slavery to sin (Williams 199215-16). We see in the unexampled Testament the establishment of the Kingdom of God. deliverer Christ was born to be the Ruler for us. When Jesus stood on trial for His life, before Pilate, Pilate asked Him, Are You the King of the Jews? He answered him and say, It is as you say (Luke 233, LASB). So we see that Jesus did severalize him that He was a King, nevertheless Jesus also indicated to him that His Kingdom was not of this world. This scripture says it all, God was the Supreme Ruler and Jes us Christ was going to rule all nations of the country (Williams 199217-18). Matthew records Jesus using the phrase Kingdom of heaven while Mark and Luke uses the phrase Kingdom of God. When the two are measured against one another, they are almost similar (Ridderbos 199639).In the above paragraphs I cod tried to capture a biblical view of the nature of the Kingdom of God and know that with this discovery comes a profound responsibility for us as part of a ministry. So in closing I realised the following Jesus tells us to attempt first the Kingdom of God and Gods righteousness, and if we do, everything will fall into place. God has got one desire for us and that is to please Him and follow Him. God must be extol here on earth because by doing so has both current and eternal implications. Our time, talents, treasures, attitudes and actions must be to serve God. We must avail ourselves to help others come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, so that they may be save fro m their sins as well, so that they can start to seek the Kingdom of God now and in the future.ConclusionMorphew (199152) said the following There is every reason to be filled with hope the confident expectation that we move from the triumph Christ has already obtained, to the victory of Christ still to be obtained. What a great priviledge to know that the Kingdom of God is coming and everything will change. To know that we have some insight into the Kingdom of God, yet for now, change begins in us. Let us produce the Kingdom on earth through the will of God.BibliographyBarton B B, Beers R A and Galvin J C (eds) 1996. Life Application Study Bible. Grand Rapids Zondervan.INTRODUCTIONIt is said that warfare is not only a physical reality, but it is also a spiritual reality. The enemy is around us and within us. friction match and his demonic forces are constantly prepared for an attack on Gods children. The great weapon that monster employs in his attacks is the sinful nature of every human being. The question we must then ask ourselves is the following First of all, is Satan really the ruler of the earth and are we under his rule. Secondly, did Jesus Christ then lost authority over us. Thirdly, can we really trust The Ransom Theory as the ultimate truth? Let us investigate the outcome so as to understand the enemys weaknesses and strengths without being afraid of him.ASSIGNMENT 2Write an essay disputing the charter that Satan has the right and title deed to the earth. Be sure to address each of the implications listed belowThe Ra nsom Theory of the Atonement cannot be dismissed as summarily as it usually is if indeed Satan had a right to the souls of men.The Ransom Theory personally for me creates the picture of God and Satan sitting at a table playing a deck of cards. Satan has just won and now rules the world. In an attempt to save the world and its people, God tries to talk terms or bribe Satan to give Him back the world. So God with His back against the wall gives His Son, Jesus Christ as ransom. When Origen formulated the doctrine, he said the following It was Satan rather than God who demanded Christs blood, thus initiating this aspect of the transaction. So the ransom was determined by, paid to, and accepted by Satan. This mitigates to some extent the laden that the ransom theory makes God somewhat of a dishonest dealer (Erickson 199653-56).Really, we cannot believe this, for God is an honest and truthful Ruler. In Genesis 3 when pass and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, Satan tried to tempt everyone by from God, but he couldnt do it. Although Adam and Eve were disobedient, God was still in control. I think the idea that made some to think the title deed of the earth was passed over to Satan was the fact that God gave us our own will and some people want to believe in Satan ruling the earth. Yes, Satan is powerful, but Jesus is more powerful. Jesuss resurrection shattered Satans power and showed Gods irresponsible love for us. To overcome Satan we need faithful allegiance to Gods Word and stay away from sin (Gross 1990114-115). Jesus said directly is the judgment of this world, now the ruler of this world will be spend out (John 1231, LASB).Postmillennialism too becomes far more attractive and reasonable when viewed in the light of inter-kingdom bout If the purpose of God is to win back territory from the enemy then truimphalism and kingdom now theology is tenable. To think that Jesus Christ will impart after Christians (Not Jesus Christ Himself) have established the Kingd om on this earth sounds very attractive and promising. All of us wants to believe that this world will become better and better. We want to be heroes and save this world before Jesus Christ comes. However, this is not the Biblical view of the world in the shutting times. Triumphalism and kingdom now theology are acceptable, but only for people that believe in Postmillenialism (Erickson 1996160-161).We as Christians must find balance between kind back the Kingdom of God and awaiting eternal life. We should spread the Gospel until Jesus Christ comes to save us. To think that in that respect is nothing to fear or that we are Superman is insane. Paul explains that there are difficult times for Christian service. But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, t raitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away (2 Timothy 31-5, LASB).Morphew (1991) says that A triumphalist approach will produce unreal people who live in a spiritual bubble, or worse, arrogance and eagerness that brings the name of Jesus into disrepute.Similarly, spiritual warfare concepts such as taking our cities for God, so much in vogue nowadays, would need to be aggressively practiced.I disagree with this concept of running around chasing the enemy. Who do we serve, Jesus Christ or Satan? As being part of the military I have realized one thing, warfare in this instance should be defensive and not offensive. We have victory in our spiritual warfare by standing in prayer and not running around trying to rebuke Satan every time something goes wrong. It is by knowing the truth and submitting to God in obedience that the devil runs (Moriarty 1992150-151).2 Corinthians 1 04-6, LASB For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, modeling down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. When Jesus Christ arose and ascended, He revealed His victory over Satan, taking with Him those whom the devil had captured. The victory of Jesus Christ is the victory of all who are saved by faith in Him. Satan has no legitimate authority over Christians. The only influence he enjoys in our lives is when we yield to him (Moriarty 1992153-154). It is true what Moriarty (1992150) says The goliath does not need to be outshouted he needs to be outtruthed. The implications for Church life also need to be considered If the primary function of the church is to deportment a war then a hierarchical form of government would be appropriate and mega churche s more effective than small family congregations.First of all we must remember that the main purpose of the church is for the praise of Gods glory and His wonderful grace. The church need not to change to really conduct war against Satan and remember that a church is not confined to four walls, the church of Jesus Christ is people. For me a small family congregation has got the same power as a mega church. Many churches and especially the new charismatics believe that the church needs a special army of Christian believers to worship with force to wipe out the devil and his demons. The people sing songs to chase away the demons and the devils and forget what the main purpose of spiritual warfare is all about. People forget that Jesus Christ is now head of the church, the ultimate authority over the world and we are the body. If we work, serve or worship together in holiness, we are one body in unity. Satan will not be able to stand when we worship together against him (Moriarty 19921 49-151). For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 612, LASB).ConclusionYou have read all the above arguments that were made and must make a decision. Do you serve Jesus Christ or Satan? Just remember, Christians will always be in battle, being a soldier for Jesus Christ is not an option, it is a command. Do not get excited about Satan rather get excited about Gods Kingdom and eternal life.BibliographyBarton B B, Beers R A and Galvin J C (eds) 1996. Life Application Study Bible. Some people say that they do not experience the frightful works of God displayed in their lives. Did Jesus Christ loose His power and authority? Or is something wrong in us we who proclaim that we belong to Jesus Christ. Let us find the answers and rekindle the flame of boldness, obedience, courage and power through Jesus Christ.ASSIGNMENT 33.1. The task of extending the kingdom. I agree with both these statements for the following reasonsJesus did give authority and power to His disciples. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. bring around the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, miss out demons. Freely you have received, freely give (Matthew 106-8, LASB). The disciples had tremendous results as they ministered with authority in Jesus name. In Luke 418-20, LASB Jesus told Peter and Andrew to leave their fishing business and become fishers of men, to help others find God. They had to practise Christs teachings and share the gospel with others (Grudem 199483). Jesus also went and designated 70 messengers. These disciples were not fully qualified, but their willingness and their awareness of Jesus power made them excellent candidates to reach all people. We read that when the seventy returned, they were delighted and full of victory. Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name (Luke 1017, LASB) (Grudem 199492).Yes I agree, we the men and women of this world needs to preach the gospel ground on the fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross and through His resurrection. Yes, we can still make use of Satan through our selfishness and sin, but do we really what to hamper our relati onship with God. If we do not preach the gospel, teach the principles of the kingdom of God, heal the sick and deliver the demonised, who will. John 1412, LASB Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. Jesus Christ gave the bible to teach and direct, the Church to support and the consecrated Spirit to annoint.3.2. The role of deliverance in extending the kingdom. Are demons described in the Scriptures as malignant entities with identity and personality? Give reasoning and references. Yes I would say that demons are distinct persons with indentities and personalities. Each has a name, though we only know the names of a few, for example the serpent (snake) in the Garden of Eden. Demons possess supernatural intelligence. They demonstrated insight into the identify of Jesus when He ameliorate all the sick and demon-possessed. Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him (Mark 134, LASB). They definitely know their future. The two demon-possessed men when they saw Jesus thought He was only going to torment them at the end of the world. And suddenly they cried out, saying, What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time? (Matthew 829, LASB).How did the Lord Jesus deal with demons by focal point or medicating the victim, or by delivering him/her with a word of command? Give reasoning and references. Jesus made use of practical examples in His dealings with demons and there were always people to witness this events. And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons (Mark 139, LASB). Jesus used His name to cast out demons. And these signs will follow those who believe In My name they will cast out demons they will speak with new tongues (Mark 1617, LASB). Jesus cas t demons not only out of people with evil spirits, but also out of people who were not affected by demons. Some of the people never even realised their ailment were caused by demons. When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, You are the Christ, the Son of God (Luke 440-41, LASB).Is it the Lords expectation that we should deal with demonic conditions in the same way as He did? Give reasons and references. Firstly, Jesus wants us to use the spiritual armour He gave us. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 613, LASB). Without the armour people will be vulnerable to Satans attack. We must liberty chit in honesty, righteousness, faith, love, hope, peace, readiness, speaking the Word of God and praying in the Spir it. We need all this to be successful against Satan and his demons. Jesus expects us to stand against Satan. We need erudition and power from God to overcome them. We should walk in love, though this will definitely frustrate the demons. Jesus prayed for people and so should we. We should also know the truth, and the truth will make us free.3.3. The role of prayer in extending the kingdom.Below are three statements about the role prayer plays in extending the kingdom of God. Which one do you support and why?I want to agree with the first two statements. The second statement more than the first. Prayer is the foundation of every Christian person (Wegerle 19973). We should by now realise the value of prayer otherwise we will never be moved to do things. Day and night we must pray. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it (Joshua 18, LASB). Prayer produces a stre ngth (a spiritual strength) that can get things done. Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force (Matthew 11, 11-12, LASB) (Wegerle 19974).To pray you do not have to prepare any special formulas. God knows our hearts, if our hearts are pure and good, we can tell God anything (Grudem 199461). Prayer definitely releases the power and authority of God. In Matthew 1619, LASB Jesus made an enormously big statement. Jesus gave us the keys to His kingdom. With this keys we can blunt the heavenly treasure-house hear on earth. We have the authority to bind Satan and his demons and change the behaviour (sins) of people (Wegerle 199716-18). Prayer is not an acknowledgement of need. God knows what we want and we must keep on praying in faith (Grudem 199457).3.4. The role of the Spirit in extending the kingdom.Evaluate the contentions made in the quotation below and support your views with Scripture. We have entered into the time where great treasures of knowledge are revealed and teached to men and women by the Holy Spirit (Grudem 1994112). We the annointed messengers should walk in the Spirit and deliver this knowledge. I say then Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (Galatians 516-18, LASB).The Holy Spirit is Jesus Christs representative in the church. Jesus took His seat in heaven and the Holy Spirit came down to begin the work of building up the body of Christ (Grudem 1994113-114). For by one Spirit we were all baptised into the body whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free and have all been made to drink into one Spirit (1 Corinthians 1213, LASB). We must get accustomed to proclaiming the Gospel with the Holy Spirit sent down to us with power. And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe (1 Thessalonians 16-7, LASB).No pastor can preach the Word of God without consulting the Holy Spirit for annointing. The Holy Spirit can manifest Himself in a Church service and create an atmosphere of love. Usually then people submit their lives and wills to Jesus Christ (Grudem 1994111-112). Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 55, LASB).3.5. The role of sign gifts in extending the kingdom. remark on the logic in the following quotations by John MacArthur. Contrast MacArthurs views with those of teachers from the Charismatic movement. Fin ally, indicate your views on the meaning of Hebrews 23-4.The first quotation for me personally gives the idea that God is not truly present and that God did not leave us anything. It feels as if the line Once the Word was complete, it was all over really means that Jesus do not exist for us today and God will never be glorified. Then the Messiah is not authentic and true anymore (MacArthur 1992127). I might agree with him on some issues for instance, we read in the Bible that Jesus and the disciples did wonderful miracles and healings. They raised the dead, healed cut-off ears and restored the crippled. The miracles of healing today is not so intense and frequent as in Jesus time. I want to agree in what Edward Gross (199036-37) believes. God does work miracles today. He says that God will never oppose His Word. He honors His Word even in greater ways than He honors His own name (Psalm 1382, LASB). Miracles and healings will keep on happening. Jesus ministry has given to us His teac hings. Although we did not see these miracles and signs, we base our believe on the people in the Bible that were eyewitnesses. This must be encouragement for us to go on and perservere because I do believe in a miracle working God.In the second quotation I agree that miracles, wonders and sign gifts were given to the first generation apostles. And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease (Matthew 101, LASB). Let us face it, even during the apostolic age Christians could not do signs and miracles. Those qualities were unique to the apostels (MacArthur 1992126). But, what I do believe is that God intervenes supernaturally in human beings today. God can heal people inspite of what medicine say. All things are possible with God. But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible (Matthew 1926, LASB).Conclu sionMost of the time we are limiting our own power, but it is Gods will to release the power in me and you. Let us not deprive ourselves the opportunity to be in the spirit, but be guided by the Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of God is extending everyday more and more because it is the mind of God. In the Kingdom of God are peace, love and perfect joy.

Hemispheric Specialization: Effects of Drugs on the Brain
Hemispheric Specialization Effects of Drugs on the BrainNANA KOFI BONSU AKUFFOLANCASTER UNIVERSITYINTRODUCTIONThe human body is divided into many move called organs. All of the parts argon controlled by an organ called the whiz, which is located in the head. The brain weighs about 2.75 pounds. The brain is made up of many cells, and I the oculus of the body. The brain sends messages to all the other parts of the body (The Human Brain. 123HelpMe.com. 19 Feb 2015).The human brain is seen to be in a spherical form. A hemisphere is half of a sphere, so this means, the brain divided into dickens parts or hemispheres. There is the business and the leave. These hemispheres appear to be identical, but closer interrogative sentence reveals that they are highly specialized regions that serve different tends. The leave hemisphere enables our ability to express ourselves in language. In over 95% of right-handed pot the left hemisphere is dominant for speech. The figure is somewhat lowe r for left handers, approximately 70%, but still highly significant. The left hemisphere is repair than the right at recognizing sequences of words and letters. It controls our logic, our reasoning, and our analytical thought processes. It can focus on details, however it has difficulty comprehending the whole picture. The perceptual functions of the right hemisphere are more specialized for the analysis of space and geometrical shapes and forms, elements that are all present at the same time (not so sequential like language). The right hemisphere is the fictive half, it can see the whole out of parts, that is allowing us to connect puzzle parts together. The right hemisphere also plays an important image in the comprehension of emotion. However, the control of drug intake from childhood stages to late adulthood increases gradually in life. Even for medical purposes, the intake of drugs may not just help a patient recover but can also have other negative side effects that later on in life reveal themselves. Drugs affect brain pathways involving reward, that is, the dopamine system in the reward pathway. Within seconds to minutes of entering the human body, drugs cause salient changes to synapses in the brain.LITERATURE REVIEWHemispheric specialization refers to the study of cognitive functions, dividing them up by the hemisphere of the brain responsible for them (www.ask.com/ science/define-hemispheric-specialization). Cognitive function refers to a persons ability to process thoughts.Cognitionprimarily refers to things like memory, the ability to learn new information, speech, and reading comprehension. In most well-preserved individuals thebrainis capable of learning new skills in each of these areas, especially in early childhood, and of developing personal and individual thoughts about the world. The brain has two halves orhemispheres. The two sides look like mirror images. This is calledbilateral symmetry. The wordbilateralmeans two-sided, while symmetr ymeans the two sides look the same. So bilateral symmetry refers to the fact that the brain consists of two halves that are virtually mirror images of each other. Some function locations vary depending on the dominant hand of the patient. In general terms, literary functions are focused in the left hemisphere, particularly in right-handed people, while creative and figurative functions center in the right hemisphere. Also well-known is that the brain iscross-wired, with theleft hemisphere controlling driving force on theright side of the body, and theright hemispherecontrolling theleft side of the body. Most, but not all, of the different structures, lobes and organs of the brain have a left and right hemisphere element, andcommunication between the hemispheresis achieved by means of a thick bundle of nerve tissues known as thecorpus callosum, which effectively makes a full brain out of two half-brains.HANDEDNESS AND oral communication PROCESSINGIt was the French physiologistPaul Brocain the 1860s (as well as his less well-known countryman and near contemporary,Marc Dax, almost 30 years earlier) who noted that, at least in general terms, a persons handedness tends to indicate aspecialized hemisphere on the brains opposite side, so that a right-handed person probably has a left-hemispherelanguage specialization, andvice versa. Indeed, for almost a century, until theWada test(a technique involving the anaesthetizing of unitary side of the brain using a drug such as atomic number 11 amytal or sodium amobarbital) was introduced in the 1960s, a persons handedness was just about the only clue an operatingneurosurgeonhad about which hemisphere of a patients brain was probably the one specialized for language.Following Brocas findings, it was initially assumed thathandedness and the hemispheric dominance of speech processing were inextricably and intimately connected. However, it soon became apparent, even to Broca, thatexceptions and mismatches existed, and that peradventure the association wasnot as fixedas he had initially thought. Although the incidence of right-hemisphere language dominancedoesincrease more or less linearly with the degree of left-handedness, it turns out to be not quite as simple as that.In fact, after the work of Springer Deutsch, Damasio Damasio, and others in the 1990s, we now know that, although about 95% of right-handersdo haveleft-hemisphere dominance for language functions, only around19% of left-handershave right-hemisphere language dominance, with another20%or so processing language functions inboth hemispheres(the incidence of language distribution inambidextrous peopleis broadly similar to that found in left-handed people). Other studies embrace percentages for left-handers of 70%, 15% and 15% (rather than 61%, 19% and 20%), but the finding all suggest that, perhaps unexpectedly, some60% 70% of left-handers process language in the left hemisphere, just like right-handers. Indeed, around 93% of all peo ple have left hemisphere language dominance (http//www.rightleftrightwrong.com/brain.html).One half-brain is not ordered and the other intuitive, nor is one more analytical and the other more creative. Both halves play important roles in logical and intuitive thinking, in analytical and creative thinking, and so forth. All of the popular distinctions involve complex functions, which are accomplished by multiple processes, some of which may operate better in the left hemisphere and some of which may operate better in the right hemisphere, but the overall functions cannot be said to be entirely the province of one or the other hemisphere. And far from having separate lives, the two halves work together. They are not isolated systems that compete or engage in some kind of cerebral tug-of-war one is not an undisciplined child, the other a spoilsport that throws schoolyard tantrums. Rather, as we have stressed, the brain is a single, marvelously complicated, and deeply integrated system . the likes of those of a well-maintained bicycle, the parts of the brain do have different functions but, like the parts of a bike, they are designed to work together. Finally, as we discussed earlier, there is straightforward evidence that none of us relies primarily on one or the other hemisphere. We all use all of our brains none of us are sincerely yours left-brained or right-brained.DRUG ADDICTIONA drug is, in broadcast terms, a chemical substance that has biological effects on human beings and animals. American Women Leaving the Home and Going to Work Essay -- Working-Wom
One of the most significant sociological converts in the nations archives began in the last decade of the nineteenth century and the ramifications are still being felt today. This change consisted of the large numbers of women who entered the work force. This dramatic change in American society was accompanied by a great deal of controversy and prejudice directed towards women. It was predicted that female employment would bring active the downfall of society and the change of the American family. While a large portion of the public was appalled by the thought of independent young work women, they were also fascinated. Therefore, the attitudes of the public toward these women can be seen in the literature that was produced at that time. The works of Edith Wharton and Theodore Dreiser immediately come to mind as dramatizations of the life of women of this period. Slowly, attitudes began to change. The employment opportunities for women blown-up and women began to slowly gain the ir rights as full citizens, finally receiving the right to vote in 1920. The attitudes of the women in the work force also changed as time progressed. At first, they struggled for even the opportunity to work. As the century progressed, they became more active in union activities and, as newspapers from the period demonstrate, they fought to achieve better working conditions and better wages. By 1900, many poor and working-class young women, mostly of Northern white extraction, were leaving the confines and moral structures of their families and elders and venturing forth to the large industrial cities such as New York (Lunbeck 781). There they became enthusiastic participants of the new pleasures that were offered to consumers in the brand-new century. Essentially, these young women added a stage to the female life cycle that had not previously existed adolescence (Lunbeck 781). In the 1890s, female factory workers were seen as a serious economic and social threat. Because women ge nerally worked at the bottom of the wages scale, the theory was that they depressed the overall pay scale for all workers (Kessler-Harris 98). Many solutions were suggested at this time that all revolved around the idea of these women getting matrimonialthe idea being that a married woman would not work for wages. Although this idea seems ludicrous from a modern perspective, it should be noted that t... ...Times(1913) 12 January, p. 7. Connell, Eileen.
